About Our Company...
We started KT Educational Enterprises to help teachers "Work Smarter, NOT Harder". As we observed and listened to student teachers, new teachers and veteran teachers alike, the same questions kept coming up over and over again. "How can I work with individual students or even a small group? The rest of the students interrupt, run around the room, don't follow directions and most of my time is spent disciplining the rest of the class". "How do you set up centers?" "How can I make sure students don't interrupt my small group lesson?" Is there a "right way" to organize centers?" and the most commonly heard comment was...."I don't have time to think up lots of activities, spend hours at home to make them, set them out, correct the papers and change the centers every week so students don't get bored." Many teachers gave up on the idea of having their students work independently so they could have "teacher time". We wanted to help. We related to their concerns and lack of time. We had experienced it all.
Between us we have taught K-2 for more years than we care to admit. During our teaching careers we had always used centers, experimented with different ways to use them, explored what the research had to say, and found what really works for students and teachers in our own classrooms.
And so, after retiring from the classroom and moving on to mentoring, we decided to create materials to assist teachers in making their lives easier. We wanted our materials to be teacher friendly, easy to use, have activities that were quick and simple to make and set up, and most importantly, give teachers the time they need to work with small groups and individual students. The rest of the class would be involved in meaningful, researched based, sequential, engaging activities. In other words, we wanted to help teachers "Work Smarter, NOT Harder".
Kindergartners at Work and Kindergartners at Work II are now available to all early childhood teachers to help them use their valuable time to TEACH.....enabling them to "Work Smarter, NOT Harder".
